I’ve got the first mullein picking of 2022 dried and ready to package.
This year, it’s in 1-oz packages rather than the .4-oz packs from previous years.
We’ll have it ready to go in stock tomorrow, Friday, April 8!
You can order it here.
We harvest the leaves of this native biennial in its first year of growth for this remedy. It’s amazing for clearing the sinuses and for soothing an irritated throat and airways. A natural expectorant, mullein is perfect for brewing with your coffee or tea so that it has a warm vehicle for soothing your body’s stuffy spaces.
We grow mullein in our back yard so we have a safe place to harvest, and we also have a couple local spots carefully vetted for their lack of chemical application nearby.
We use the dried leaf for tea and coffee. I grind my coffee daily and use boiling water in a French press to brew it. I just add a pinch of mullein to my ground beans every morning, and my sinuses stay clear all day. The girls ask me to make them tea with mullein when they feel stuffy or their throat hurts. It’s AMAZING.
After harvesting, I wash the leaves and then immediately put them in the dehydrator. After they dry, I crush them by hand and remove the center stem. Then we grind the crushed leaves so that it’s easy to get a tiny pinch when making a single cup of tea or coffee.
